Dinner: Finally tried "Oden" on the corner in Orchard Emerald, which not surprisingly, serves oden. Never having been to an oden restaurant before, I wasn't quite sure what the proper way eat it was, and I still don't, but it was decent, if not exceptional. Price was moderate... about S$80 for a variety of dishes for two, and it was actually too much food, ended up getting the remainder for takeaway. One of the non-oden items we got was teriyaki salmon, which was superb... a far cry from the sticky sweet goop I'm used to getting in the US, this had a rich smokiness to it which was fantastic. I'd go back and just get some of that.
Came home and Japan Hour was on, and they went to a gyoza shop which offered "angry monkey dumpling", which had picked shallot (or garlic?) in it. I love that name, particularly taken out of context, but it sounded delicious, too!
