Lunch: Black pepper fish (I have no clue what kind of fish...) with soup and rice (S$4 = USD$ 2.35) and a watermelon juice (S$2 = USD$ 1.17) at the recently opened Point Food Court (I think) on Cuppage. Burnt the crap out of my tongue eating the first bite of fish. Taste was okay, but as is typical of S'pore food, and many things in Singapore, it lacked balls.... guts... oomph.

Dinner: Char siew pau and a peanut ball thingy from the vendor right near the MRT exit on Pagoda Street in Chinatown. Walked over to Smith Street and got an order of barbecued stingray and a plate of kang kong from Boon Tat Street BBQ Seafood and a watermelon juice to drink. (The guy said no lime juice. How can that be? Weird.)

Shit. It's now just after midnight and I'm hungry again. Maybe it's time to go out to another hawker center, hah...

Breakfast: Couple of Finn Crisp crackers, glass of milk.

Lunch: Went to Chinatown, had a char siew pau and a lotus seed bun, wandered over to Maxwell Food Centre and got a plate of nasi lemak. Then a soursop juice with lemon and lime slices.

Dinner: Barbecued stingray and stirfried kang kong over on Cuppage. Not exactly sure where I got it from, as I thought I ordered from one place, but it seemed to arrive from the kitchen of another. I've given up trying to understand this phenomenom, as long as I get my food and don't get overcharged, I'm happy. Had a large Tiger beer, which I made extremely short work of (I must have been thirsty!) and a lime juice. (which was good, not too sweet and not fake tasting) The stingray was a bit firmer/dryer than others I've had... slightly chicken-like texture almost, and had quite a few bones in the cut of meat, but it was pretty decent nonetheless. The sauce was more of a Malay-infuenced affair, maybe closer to a rendang than a sambal? Different than I was expecting, but quite good nonetheless.

Breakfast: Handfull of peanuts, a Finn Crisp cracker, some dried tow fu snacks, milk. Wasn't really hungry but had to eat something with my medication.

Lunch: Around 1:30pm went over to Sento and had the Katsu Tama Wazen lunch set. Katsu cutlet over a flame with onion and sauce, a raw egg to pour over it, pickles, salmon sashimi, seasoned lotus root slices, pickles, rice, miso soup, chawanmushi. Lot of food, couldn't finish the chawanmushi or the rice, but did a good job on everything else, even despite not feeling the physical sensation of hunger. Came with a free watery soft drink, I chose a Coke, (which I think was actually a Pepsi... "same shit, different toilet") and I had 2 Asahi beers as well.

Food in Singapore is still 80% boring. Soursop juice rocks, I will miss that when I'm gone. And there is some good Japanese to be had here and there. But largely, my food court and hawker stall experiences have been greasy and flavor-wise underwhelming.
