inspired by this site, a log of my daily gastronomic activities + MediaBurp, the things my brain ate.
Lunch: Sliced turkey, swiss cheese, mustard.
Beverage: Bottled Kirin milk tea.
Dinner: Seafood rice noodle soup (squid, prawn, fishball, bonelesschickensliceofpork) and a n avacado shake at New Pagolac. The shake was a bit fluffier than I had expected, but an interesting experience nonetheless. Not too sweet, which was nice. I had expected a more liquid consistency, this was more frothy, so perhaps I've seen yet something else being served which was green. Wasn't the egg yolk soda, tried that one already. It wasn't bad, a bit like custard, but not something I'd go for all the time.
Dinner: Grilled shrimp and barbecued pork over vermicelli, ca phe sua dac at New Pagolac.
Dinner: Com thit nuong (barbecued pork rice plate) and a soda xi muoi (salty plum soda) at New Pagolac. Wanted to get a ca phe sua dac, but it was getting late and I had other things to do, so I abstained.
Lunch: Smattering of simple Japanese items I packed the previous evening... hiyayako, natto, lightly pickled cucumber (kyuri something? something kyuri?) from Yaoya-san's which was kinda' yucky, umeboshi, shredded cabbage, piece of saba shioyaki, and some of those sweetend kidney beans. (which hadn't been softened enough) Forgot my gohan at home, (doh!) and had a packet of miso soup and some ocha, but no drinking water at work so I skipped those.
Lunch: Bought an Asian chicken salad and a large iced tea from Jack In The Box, but when I got to work my co-workers AyJay and Tony offered me Hawaiian barbecue they had gotten, and so I opted for that instead. I had some chicken katsu, grilled chicken, scrambled egg, rice, a little macaroni salad and what was essentially "SPAM sushi", a grilled slice of SPAM with a bit of savory sauce, placed atop a rectangle of rice and wrapped in nori. Forgot the name of it that they told me. Not half-bad, considering that it was SPAM.
Lunch: Asian chicken salad and large iced tea with lemon and sugar from Jack In The Box. The drive-thru folks at that location seem to consistently be genuinely cheery and pleasant and always wish me a nice day, a sentiment which I always return with equal geniality.
Breakfast: Leftover congee from Daimo with 100 year egg and pork. Or was it chicken? I couldn't quite tell. Sleepytime tea, vegetable bao from 99 Ranch freezer section, box of raisins.
